Mrs C Dudley (ACDP) to ask the Minister of Basic Education:
Whether a specific budget has been agreed to for the funding that is being
made available through Primary Education Sector Policy Support Programme
(PrimEDSPSP); if not, why not; if so, (a) how will this budget benefit
early childhood development (ECD) specifically and (b) how can this budget
be assessed by communities and ECD providers? NW783E
REPLY
No, there is no specific budget for the three focus areas within the
Primary Education Sector Policy Support Programme (PrimED SPSP). The
funding allocation to the value of â¬122.68 million, over three years is
provided as budget support which allows the Department of Basic Education,
in cooperation with the Department of Higher Education and Training, full
discretion in the allocation and utilisation of the funding.
