Whether she or the National Energy Regulator of SA (NERSA) intends
taking any steps to protect households against increased gas prices;
if not, why not; if so, (a) what steps and (b) how will she (i)

REPLY
a) The regulation on LPGas retail prices which was published for
comment by the public on 13 November 2009 is aimed at ensuring that
households do not continue paying for gas at prices that make it
unaffordable for households.
b) A lower price coupled with information dissemination and awareness
campaigns to educate our communities about the advantages of
diversifying their energy mix will make gas attractive to most
citizens.
