REPLY:
1) Training of health care workers was conducted at designated hospitals
- including Port Health, emergency medical services, outbreak response
teams and Civil Aviation Authorities. These training sessions are
cascaded to all facilities both rural and urban.
Viral Hemorrhagic Fever and EVD guidelines have been disseminated to
all provinces for further distribution to all health care workers both
in the public sector as well as the private sector.
Standard operating procedures have been developed in such a manner
that suspected EVD cases will be referred only to the designated
hospitals.
2) Viral Hemorrhagic Fever and Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) guidelines have
been disseminated to all provinces for further distribution to all
health care workers both in the public sector as well as the private
sector. Provincial managers responsible for communicable disease
control have been requested to ensure that all staff at all levels in
the health care system is appropriately informed about EVD. Training
on EVD is ongoing in provinces.
