REPLY:
(1) Healthcare facilities were assessed against set standards in 2011,
however full results are not yet published as validation is still
underway and the audit is not yet complete. The audit once complete
will cover all facilities.
(2) Informal self-assessments performed by the facilities themselves have
been used at local level to identify and close gaps in specific areas,
for example cleanliness, infection control or waiting times. This
process will be further strengthened in the coming months through
multi-disciplinary teams who will work with provincial management to
support facilities.
(3) This question will be dealt with by the support teams mentioned in 2
above.
END.
