(1) With reference to his reply to question 884 on 13 May 2010, what has been the total annual expenditure in each province in the past decade for all software that has been utilised in hospitals, including all amounts paid to all service providers for software licences, support, maintenance and development; (2) whether there are any other provincial hospital information systems by which provinces have been able to share patient information successfully while using electronic messaging standards, including those mentioned in the various National Health Information System of South Africa (NHIS/SA) documents; if not, why not; if so, (3) whether this sharing of patient information has been achieved in a live hospital environment; if so, which specific aspects of data elements such as name, ID number, heart rate and blood pressure were shared electronically between the systems; if not, (4) whether this sharing of patient information has been achieved in a setting created specifically for the testing; if not, what is the position in this regard; if so, what are the relevant details; (5) whether each province mentioned above still continues to share the data elements; if not, (a) why not, (b) which provinces are affected and (c) what are the reasons for the information not being shared; if so, what are the relevant details?
