QUESTION 1893 / NW2131E
DATE OF PUBLICATION: Friday, 29 July 2011
INTERNAL QUESTION PAPER NO 20 of 2011
Ms A M Dreyer (DA) to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:
With reference to her reply to Question 773 on 24 June 2011, what is the
estimated time line for the specified appeals process to be finalised?
NW2131E
REPLY:
It is, at this stage, not possible to provide a definitive timeline, as
appeal processes of this nature require extensive investigation, and the
Department of Home Affairs has to, at all times, ensure that the new
information provided is tested, thoroughly, to ensure that the correct
decision is taken, in terms of applicable legislation. The above-mentioned
process has, now, been completed, and a final decision is expected, soon.
