QUESTION FOR WRITTEN REPLY
QUESTION NO.: 97
DATE OF PUBLICATION: 8 SEPTEMBER 2014
Mr F Essack (DA-Mpumalanga) to ask the Minister of Human Settlements:
(1) What are her departmentâs plans regarding the Chinese Housing Project
in Graskop, Mpumalanga;
(2) whether houses in this development have been allocated to
beneficiaries; if not, why not; if so, when will the beneficiaries
receive their houses? CO136E
REPLY
(1) The 170 houses in the Chinese Housing Project in Graskop, Mpumalanga
have been completed and the services connected. The plan is to hand
over the houses to 170 qualifying beneficiaries from the Thaba Chweu
Local Municipality waiting list.
(2) The beneficiaries have not received their houses yet, however, all
170 beneficiaries have been identified for allocation. The reasons
for not allocating the houses yet is due to the fact that there was a
delay in finalizing the connections of the houses to the municipal
bulk infrastructure. It is anticipated that the houses will be handed
over to the beneficiaries before the end of October 2014.
