Mr F Essack (DA-Mpumalanga) to ask the Minister of Human Settlements:
What amount of its allocated appropriation budget for the 2014-15 financial
year has been underspent by each provincial Human Settlements Department to
date? CW75E
REPLY
Provincial Expenditure Performance vs. Cash Flow as at 28 February 2015 is
indicated below:

⢠The total Human Settlements Development Grant allocation for the
2014/15 financial year is R17 billion.
⢠By the end of February 2015, R15.8 billion or 93% was already
transferred to provinces. Some Provinces spent more than what has been
transferred but not more than their yearly allocation.
⢠As at 28 February 2015, R1.2 billion of the transferred funds was
unspent.
⢠The R1.2 billion is made up of:
a) Eastern Cape â R433 000
b) Gauteng â R623Â 290 000
c) Limpopo â R 339Â 375 000
d) Northern Cape â R18Â 862 000
e) Western Cape â R234Â 139 000
Honourable member, we will be more than willing to brief the Select
Committee on Social Services once the latest figures have been
audited.
