b) SASSA went out on open tender, RFQ 005/ICT on the 14th September 2007
for support and maintenance of ICT infrastructure for the whole of
SASSA. The tender was awarded to TSS Managed Services (TSSMS). However
the tender specifications excluded the support and maintenance of ICT
equipment in the mobile units. In 2008, a request was then submitted
to BidComm to approve the inclusion of support and maintenance for the
mobile units. Approval was granted by BidComm for a seven-month
period.
