275.   Mr D B Feldman (COPE-Gauteng) to ask the Minister of Justice and
Constitutional Development:
Whether he will request the National Director of Public Prosecutions to
urgently conduct an investigation into the 2010 festival of the
National Youth Development Agency in light of the allegations of
mismanagement and maladministration of public funds; if not, why not;
if so, what are the relevant details?

REPLY:-
No. Should the Honourable Member have evidence of mismanagement and
maladministration of public funds or have reasonable grounds that an
offence has been committed, he is at liberty to report the matter to the
South African Police Service.Â
The  Honourable Member is also at liberty to report the matter by means of
an affidavit or affirmed declaration to the Special Investigating Unit
established in terms of the Special Investigation Units and Special
Tribunals Act, 1996 (Act 74 of 1996)(the Act). Kindly note that the Special
Investigating Unit established under the Act, do not fall under the
authority of the National Director of Public Prosecutions.
