REPLY:
(a) and (b)
No, the South African Police Services is not going to establish a
Directorate to deal with the prevention of police killings.
The South African Police Services has a strategy in place to prevent police
officials from being murdered or attacked. This function is dealt with by
the Division Visible Policing, as part of the responsibility for Crime
Prevention and Community Services.
