REPLY
The Department of Public Enterprises is currently reviewing its strategy
with respect to SAFCOLâs future role within the context of the
developmental state. The Department is of the view that SAFCOL has an
important role to play in the development of rural communities given that a
significant portion of the land on which SAFCOL operates is subject to land
claims. In undertaking this review, cognisance will also be taken of the
findings of the Presidential Review Committee on State Owned Enterprises.
