Ms B C Blaai (Cope) to ask the Minister of Correctional Services:
(1) Whether (a) she, (b) her advisers and (c) the National Commissioner
have routinely recorded any meetings they have had with any official with
whom they have had problems for evidence purposes; if not, what is the
policy in this regard, in each case; if so,
(2) whether she will make the recordings available to the Public Protector
on request; if not, why not; if so, when?

1) (a), (b) and (c)
The Minister, her advisors and the National Commissioner do interact with
various officials as a matter of routine on a range of issues including
receiving reports. Whenever necessary; written notes of the discussion
are made.
2) Records can be made available on request to the Public Protector where
formal written proceedings of the meetings were made.
