INTERNAL QUESTION PAPER [NO 17-2009]
DATE OF PUBLICATION: 18 SEPTEMBER 2009
1294. Mr M M Swathe (DA) to ask the Minister of Rural Development and Land
Reform:
Whether his department drafts programmes with consideration to reports and
work from local government programmes such as Project Consolidate and the
Integrated Sustainable Rural Development Programme; if not, why not; if so,
what are the relevant details?
NW1641E
THE MINISTER OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND LAND REFORM:
Yes. Lessons learnt from programmes such as Project Consolidate and the
Integrated Sustainable Rural Development Programme (ISRDP) are currently
being integrated into the Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CRDP).
In relation to the ISRDP, communication on this process has been sent out
to all nodal mayors, provincial Heads of Departments in the nodal areas and
technical stakeholders that were involved in its implementation in the
nodes. Stakeholders will continue to be consulted on how to integrate the
best practices from these programmes during the rollout of the CRDP.
