NW3046E
THE MINISTER OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND LAND REFORM:
(1) Yes. About 80 percent of the land claims lodged were urban claims,
most of which have been settled and the remaining 20 percent are rural
land claims involving farms.
(a)(i)-(iii), (b) and (c) Due to the volume of the information
requested, which the Commission on Restitution of Land
Rights (CRLR) is currently compiling, this exercise could
not be completed within the prescribed timeframe, but the
CRLR has dedicated itself to consolidating all the
information in the format requested for submission by
early February 2010.
(2) Falls away.
(3) No. Not all land claims that were lodged have been gazetted as some
claims are still under investigation and will be gazetted, where
applicable, in accordance with the provisions of the Restitution of
Land Rights Act, 1994 (Act No 22 of 1994).
