REPLY:
My Department has already started lifting the means test for parents with
disabled children under 18 years to increase childrenâs access to Care
Dependency Grant. The means test for Care Dependency Grant was R48 000 per
annum for a long time until 2008 when it was raised to 10 times the grant
amount to R 225 600. The Department will continue to raise the Care
Dependency Grant means test annually and is working towards its removal.
