Ms King was a teacher at the John Bisseker High School before she became active in politics.[1] She joined the Democratic Alliance in 2015, and she has served as the branch secretary for ward 19, the women's network representative in the party's Buffalo City coastal constituency, and as a councillor of the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality. She was sworn in as a Member of the National Assembly on 8 November 2016.
