The Department of Public Works has created 2 462 502 or 50.05 per cent of job opportunities in year four (2012) against the 5 year (2009 - 2013) target of 4 920 000 job opportunities for the Expanded Public Works Programme. This was a cause for concern given the fact that job creation is a priority of Government. 5. The Committee expressed concern at the impact on the administrative capacity of departments to deliver services by shifting funds from funded vacant posts.
