It was noted that some Members had not fulfilled their statutory obligation to submit annual reports on how their parliaments had followed up and implemented recommendations of the three resolutions adopted at the 122th Assembly, namely: Cooperation and shared responsibility in the global fight against organised crime, in particular drug trafficking, illegal arms sales, human trafficking and cross-border terrorism; The role of parliaments in developing South-South and triangular cooperation with a view to accelerating achievement of the Millennium Development Goals; Youth participation in the democratic process; and The role of parliaments in strengthening the solidarity of the international community towards the people of Haiti and Chile in the wake of devastating major disasters, and urgent actions required in all disaster-prone countries to improve disaster- risk assessment, preventing and mitigation (Emergency item).
