In regard to the draft resolution before the Third Standing Committee it was noted that women are confronted with more funding challenges than men. In this regard, strong political will, gender sensitive internal polices and a distribution of resources that takes into account the needs of women are required in political parties. Political parties should do more to support the candidatures of women, including considering matters such as for example subsidies for child care. Furthermore, non-discrimination should be enshrined in constitutional and electoral laws and women should receive support for, during and after elections.
