Government of Austria's response to the EU Economic Crisis The current Government of Austria has been working towards a closer collaboration among European states in the debt crisis, and has on many occasions warned of the far-reaching implications it would have on the lives of Austrians and Europeans if the Euro-zone is allowed to disintegrate. The Austrian parliament in September 2011 approved the Euro rescue deal, which includes the expansion of the European financial stability facility. Parties to the far right of the political spectrum, have openly ridiculed the government for "continuing to pay the debts of foreign countries" with state resources.
