President, I was listening carefully to your response - it states clearly that the department has achieved more successes and has had fewer challenges in comparison. We wish that its performance continues to improve so that it may overcome challenges like its poor infrastructure. That is the greatest challenge faced by most departments. The development of infrastructure will ensure that our children obtain quality education.
We are pleased with the introduction and implementation of Annual National Assessment tests, which will help to improve the levels of literacy and numeracy. It will also help familiarise our children with national assessment standards. What I want to highlight is this: We have achieved so much but we are still facing challenges, therefore, we must not deviate from the decisions taken to improve our education system.
