Mr M S F De FREITAS (DA): Speaker, the long-standing allegation - which, for the last 10 years, has been met with denial - that former Transport Minister, Mac Maharaj, was paid a R1,2 million kickback from a French arms manufacturer in return for a R265-million credit card licence tender, cannot be ignored by President Zuma. Yet, the President has, regrettably, stated this week that no further investigations will be launched into the affairs of the presidential spokesperson, Mac Maharaj. The problem is that President Zuma cannot wish this issue away. It cannot be part of our arms deal investigation and must be dealt with separately and swiftly. The President must suspend Mac Maharaj without delay.
