The Honourable Member is asking a very vague question. All departments and public entities must act in terms of the law, and the law may have both economic and non-economic objectives, like social or developmental objectives, as well as constitutional objectives. So, for example, spending on school education or health is necessary, and cannot be regarded as “mis-aligned” because it is not directly related to an economic policy programme. The Honourable Member is therefore requested to be more precise when asking such a question.
Not applicable, refer to (a) on the need for the question to be more precise.
