3158. Mr M A Nhanha (Cope) to ask the Minister of Public Enterprises:
Whether he has taken any steps to close the widening wage gap that exists
between (a) senior managers, (b) directors and (c) lower rung employees in
(i) his department and (ii) entities reporting to him; if not, what is the
position in this regard; if so, what are the relevant details? NW3685E
REPLY
State Owned Companies:
The remuneration model for executive and non-executive directors of the
state owned companies (SOC) reporting to the Department of Public
Enterprises (DPE) is currently being reviewed.
With regard to the DPE, the departmental remuneration and staffing
requirements are guided by the Department of Public Service and
Administrationâs salary structure and as such comply with prescribed
provisions.
