INTERNAL QUESTION PAPER NO 6 of 2011
Ms A M Dreyer (DA) to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:â
1) Whether, with reference to her reply to question 2097 on 28 October
2010, she will provide the details and outcomes of the investigation;
if not, why not if so, what are the relevant details?
2) whether a comprehensive final report on this investigation is
available; if not, why not; if so, where is it available;
3) whether she will provide the member Ms A M Dreyer with a copy of the
report; if not, why not?

REPLY:
(1) The details of the investigation cannot be provided, as the person
concerned lodged an appeal against the decision of the Department of
Home Affairs. The person concerned submitted substantial new aspects
which require further extensive research by the investigators of the
Department to determine its veracity, and value in relation to the
personâs status. It must, further, be noted that the personal
information, in respect of the history of the person concerned, in the
Republic of South Africa, is protected personal information.
In the circumstances, the final details, and the outcomes of the
investigation will not be divulged. Information pertaining to the
final decision of the Department cannot be divulged, before the appeal
process has been finalised.
(2) For the reasons mentioned in part (1) above, the final report is not
available.
(3) For the reasons mentioned in part (1), above, I cannot provide the
Honourable Member with a copy of the report. I will, however, make the
final decision on the status of the person available, as soon as, the
appeal process has been finalised.
