REPLY:-
I wish to inform the Honourable Member that the Director of Public
Prosecutions: Cape Town is aware of the delay with regard to this matter.
The delay has been caused by the furnishing of a record in an incomplete
state to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions: Cape Town by
the Appeal Clerk of Cape Town's Magistrate Office. This has necessitated
the Director of Public Prosecutions, on more than one occasion, to return
the record to the Clerk for corrections. The office of the Director of
Public Prosecutions: Cape Town undertakes to expedite the reconstruction of
the record and the finalisation of the appeal.
