1) The Regional Works Unit is already functional and effective. The first
major project undertaken was the refurbishment of the hospice in Lenz
which commenced in August 2011 and was completed in September 2009.
There are command and management skills, as well as various trades of
the building industry at artisan level.
2) The maximum limit is R100Â 000-00 per case. Any maintenance and repair
costs above the maximum limit are the responsibility of the Department
of Public Works.
3) The Defence Works regiment does not execute Capital Projects.
