The Minister of Public Works
(1) No, the Department of Public Works has no maintenance plan for the

Department.
(2) Currently there are no tenants residing at No. 2 Diamant Street,
Vredendal. The dwelling was reserved for the Department of
Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, but it was vacated without the
Department of Public Works being informed. As such, the house is
vacant and no rental is being received for the property.
(3) (a) The function of the security guards at the premises is to secure
the property and prevent its illegal occupation and vandalism.
(b) No looting has taken place since the appointment of the security
guards.
(4) No, at present the Department has no intention to dispose of the
property by means of a sale in the open market.
