NW1177E REPLY: No, the National Archivist has not been appointed as yet, however there is an Acting National Archivist appointed since the 27th of September 2010, the post was advertised on the 8th of September 2013 in the Sunday Times newspaper with the closing date of 20th September 2013. However no appointment was made due to the scarcity of skills in this niche part of the arts, culture and heritage sector.. I have instructed the officials of my Department to restart and speed up the process of selection and final appointment. Reply question reply 1024 is approved by the Minister.
