On 27 April, South Africans commemorated Freedom Day, this being the 19th year since the first democratic elections of the Republic of South Africa. On this day, we remember the words of the former President Nelson Mandela, who said: "... for to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others."
