I would now specifically like to deal with the issue of the Transnet pensioners and the horrendous circumstances in which they find themselves. There are over 70 000 pensioners involved, most of whom receive pensions way below their counterparts in the government employee's pension fund and the pension fund of other state-owned enterprises such as Eskom. For example, a Transnet pensioner who retired in 1990 on a pension of R1400 a month now receives only R3000 a month compared to their counterpart whose pensions had kept pace with inflation. They now receive - if they retired in 1990 - R8 000 a month. It is mind-boggling that Transnet has been allowed to get away with this for so long. These men and women worked hard and lived their whole lives to support our country. I will be approaching the public protector and asking her to investigate this case, and when we have the answers, we will go forward. Thank you.
