Speaker, I will respond to two statements made by members of the ANC. Firstly, we welcome the statement made by the member on the partnership between government and the private sector. Two weeks ago the DTI partnered with the National Youth Development Agency on launching the IthubaLentsha Project in Tembisa, at which the ANC-led government decided to continue to assist the South African youth to be entrepreneurs and to benefit from our SMME incentive programme. This has helped young people to qualify for the DTI incentives, which will see many companies being established, benefiting both job creation and the economy of the country.
Secondly, we also welcome the statement by the hon Gcwabaza on the manufacturing of new fleets by the automotive sector. Government, through the DTI, will also continue to provide incentives for innovation in manufacturing, especially when it is intended to create jobs in the market. We call upon other motor vehicle producers to follow the good example of BMW to create more jobs in the market and grow our economy. [Applause.]
