In terms of section 65(1) of the PFMA the executive authority for a public entity must table in the National Assembly the annual report and financial statements of the public entity not later than 31 December of each year. In terms of section 65(2) of the PFMA if an executive authority fails to table within the prescribed period, the executive authority must table a written explanation in the legislature setting out the reasons why the annual reports were not tabled.
