. A more senior member should be appointed to control SAPS firearms. . That all the SAPS firearms at the police station are sent for ballistic testing. Provincial Commissioner should monitor this process. . That persons with necessary authority (i.e. not too junior) are put in charge of controlling the SAPS firearms. . That the Station Commander looks into the issue of high arrests for misdemeanour and ascertains whether this is impacting on reducing crime in the area. . That the Domestic Violence Act and the Child Justice Act must be properly implemented and that staff are briefed on implementation of the Criminal Law (Forensic Procedures) Amendment Act. . That the Committee returns by that end of the 4th terms of Parliament to monitor progress. . That the station reports to the Committee when it receives the 10 additional vehicles promised for 2011/12. . That the position of Branch Commander is filled as soon as possible. . There were police officers who were not doing their jobs and needed to be identified and procedures followed to ensure that they do their work or fired, there were others who were working hard and needed to be supported. .
