The Station Commander stated that they were aware of the problem with detectives. Filling of vacant posts will assist in addressing this problem and the 18 additional vehicles that they will get in 2011/12 will alleviate some of the stresses. Closer supervision of the detectives is required. The issue of forced signing for dockets will be investigated. The Station Commander noted that there are social workers and CPF councillors available for counselling of detectives. He has stated that he will institute a project to check who is involved in serious cases and refer these persons to counselling. Detectives who do not want to work as detectives should forward their names and apply for a transfer. They can be shifted. The Station Commander will investigate the fact that the morning meetings are not seen as useful by the detectives and that no-one in management is providing them with a macro picture.
