The General Store register was messy with bits of paper stuck in to cover up mistakes. Some inserts in the register were written in pencil. The Committee found drugs in the store that had not been removed or taken to the Forensic Science Laboratory for testing. Some of these drugs had been in the store for two years and many of them were from March 2011. Drugs included drugs other than dagga, such as Mandrax. Of very serious concern was the fact that drug evidence that was marked as destroyed, and signed (including a witness to the destruction), remained in the Store. The Committee was very concerned that the station had been recently inspected by the Provincial Inspectorate who had not identified this serious problem.
