Much of the assault GBH cases emanate from the taverns/shebeens and these cases are often withdrawn. . Some cases are withdrawn by the courts for lack of evidence and are not subsequently put back on the roll. . The detectives currently do not have any data typists. There are three vacant posts. There is also on on-going problem with a poor data line. . The barracks/park homes used by staff do not have any telephone lines and many detectives do not have cell phones. Only the Branch Commander and two of the five Group Commanders have official cell phones. Cell phones for the remaining Group Commanders were requested from the province and should be received by the end of August 2011.
