Firearms are transferred daily from the general to the firearm register. The person at the store said that there were a total of 241 firearms but when these were counted there were only 220 firearms. These were apparently recounted after the Committee had left the safe and it was reported that on recount there were actually 241. The staff said that all of the firearms in the safe had been sent to Ballistics but according to the Register this was not in fact true, and there were a number of firearms in the safe that had not been sent off. The register is not inspected regularly and seems to only have been done every three months or so. Since January 2011 (after the inspection by the Provincial Inspectorate) the register had not been inspected.
