An audit of management at all stations should be conducted in order to identify who is effective and who is not effective. Ineffective managers should be redeployed into positions in which they would be more useful. Managers should be trained in strategic management in order to provide holistic, visionary direction to staff. Managers must also recognise the value of the administrative aspects of their work which will also result in more effective crime reduction and crime combating. The lack of consistency in performance agreements must be addressed.
