Oversight is done through various mechanisms including through annual reports, visits to communities to investigate complains and assess progress of government in service delivery. The community can also request Parliament to investigate maladministration, misconduct and lack of service delivery. The portfolio committee was in the process of reviewing the governance model of public entities to ensure accountability and that entities respond to the needs of communities and the developmental agenda of government.
