The information technology was reported not to be working, some times for the rest of the week. The bad condition of the IT system was attributed to the problematic Siemens contract (providing IT services to the Department of Labour) with the Department of Labour. Owing to the shortage of computers staff was being compelled to share amongst themselves particularly in the inspection service area. There was no electronic filling only manual. Client Service Officers had no laptops, 3-G cards and mobile phones despite the fact that they were doing field work. Clients Service Officers were being compelled to use their own mobile phones and when claiming airtime were not refunded by the labour centre. There were no vehicles compatible to the rural road conditions of the area. Only 4 vehicles were being utilised by the labour centre and no dedicated car for Inspectors. The labour centre pointed out that vehicles appropriate for the condition of the road of the area were urgently needed. Ablution facilities of the centre were not up to standard in that the latch of men's bathroom was not functioning.
