The poor compliance was attributed to the shortage of inspectors. In this regard, the national Department of Labour intended to increase number of inspectors to strengthen compliance. This will be conducted by considering profile of a certain labour centre and determine the exact number of the inspectors that will be allocated. All the labour centres have been requested to subject all the inspectors to training particularly on the substantive aspect. The Committee recommended that in order to strengthen inspection, people with relevant tertiary qualification should be recruited. In complicated cases, inspectors with specialised skills should be allocated.
