Hon Chairperson, I hereby give notice that on the next sitting day of the Council I shall move on behalf of Cope:
That the Council debates -
1) the lack of water experienced by 3 000 households for six weeks in Sedibeng and Geelboom near Kuruman in the Northern Cape;
2) the increasing frustration of residents forced to travel long distances to fetch water of poor quality;
3) the paralysis of the local municipality to fix the water problem and their continual blame shifting;
4) the poor planning and lack of leadership which has led to delays in infrastructure upgrading;
5) the need to accelerate access to basic human rights; and
6) the progressive realisation of the Bill of Rights in the communities of Sedibeng and Geelboom.
