Somlomo, siyi-ANC sothula umnqwazi kwi-Agricultural Research Council ne-Science and Technological Innovation Agency ngokwamakhumsha, ngobuchule ababenzileyo ukunceda kwimingeni ethi ihlangabezane namafama asakhasayo. Uphando olwenziweyo lubonisa ukuba amafama asakhasayo arhweba ngeenkomo awenzi nzuzo. Igalelo lawo likumyinge wesihlanu ekhulwini kwi-GDP yelizwe kushishino lwenyama yenkomo, nangona iimveliso zenyama yenkomo zikumyinge wama-40% kwilizwe lonke.
I-TIA kunye ne-ARC yenze ungenelelo olujoliswe ekukhuliseni imihlambi yeenkomo zeNguni ukuze incede ekonyusweni koqoqosho olubhekisele kwimveliso yenyama yenkomo, ukwenzela ukuba kuncitshiswe ukuthengwa kwenyama yenkomo kwamanye amazwe ekuqikelelwa ukuba oko kukumyinge wama-50 000 eetoni kunye ne-150 000 ukuya kuma-300 000 amathole asandul' ukulunyulwa ngonyaka.
Eyona njongo ye-Assisted Productive Technology Projection, ngokwamakhumsha, kukwehlisa izinga lokunqaba kweenkunzi zeenkomo, nto leyo ekhokelela kumazinga aphantsi emveliso kwanokukhuliswa koqoqosho kumafama asakhasayo.
Le projekthi yakhiwe ngeenjongo zokukhulisa amafama, ingakumbi akwiindawo ezisemaphandleni, ukwenzela ukuba akwazi ukuthabatha inxaxheba kushishino olujongise kwinyama yenkomo nasekubaxhaseni ngakumbi kwezempilo ezijoliswe kwizilwanyana ... [Ms M L DUNJWA (ANC): Speaker, as the ANC we salute the Agricultural Research Council and the Technological Innovation Agency for their expertise in dealing with the challenges encountered by emerging farmers. The research conducted shows that emerging stock farmers are not making any profit. Their contribution is a minimum of 5% to the country's GDP as far as the beef trade is concerned, even though beef production in the entire country is a minimum of 40%.
TIA and ARC made interventions that are directed at expanding the Nguni cattle herds in order to help increase the economy related to beef production. This will alleviate the rate of importing beef from other countries, which is estimated at a minimum of 50 000 tons and about 150 000 to 300 000 calves in one year.
The main objective of the Assisted Productive Technology Projection is to alleviate the scarcity of bulls, which leads to lower levels of production, and that of the development of emerging farmers.
This project was established with the aim of developing farmers, especially in rural areas, to enable them to participate in the business that focuses on beef production and in providing them with more support in veterinary science in particular. [Time expired.]]
