Chairperson, I give notice that on the next sitting day of the Council I shall move on behalf of Cope:
That the Council -
1) notes the findings of the Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research, which claim that if global warming was limited to 2C above pre-industrial levels, it might still not be enough to save South Africa from harm;
2) recognises the results of the findings that the continent of Africa will experience warming of between 4C and 5C by 2100 if the global average remains at 2C; and
3) acknowledges the urgency to address the issue of climate change and to find a lasting, long-term solution.
