Chairperson, I move without notice:
That the Council -
1) notes that, according to the progress report on the implementation of the Limpopo Employment Growth and Development Plan, the provincial government of Limpopo has made significant progress in the creation of jobs and they have indeed created more than 62 400 jobs in the first quarter of the current financial year;
2) acknowledges that this is in line with President Jacob Zuma's call to all government departments in all spheres of government to align their programmes with the job creation imperative, as well as his call in his state of the nation address earlier this year seeing that every sector and business entity focus on job creation, that 2011 has been declared a year of job creation through meaningful economic transformation and inclusive growth;
3) commends and congratulates the provincial government of Limpopo on this achievement and for playing its part in eradicating unemployment and poverty in order to improve the living conditions of the poor and to make South Africa a better place; and calls on all spheres of government, government departments and state-owned entities, as well as the private sector, to ensure that this very important goal becomes a reality.
