Hon members, a point of order was put in regard to whether it was parliamentary to ask a Member of Parliament to "tshisa" or burn something. In fact, the hon member, the Leader of the Opposition, was asking a rhetorical question, which in the context cannot be construed as inciting anyone to burn anything. Therefore, his remarks were not unparliamentary. [Applause.]
The MINISTER IN THE PRESIDENCY - PERFORMANCE MONITORING, EVALUATION AND ADMINISTRATION: Chairperson, on your ruling, is there no mechanism to ask me if I felt threatened or not? [Laughter.] What would happen if I felt threatened by what you consider to be something light, and I were not able to perform my duties here in the Chamber because another member had incited members to "tshisa"?
