1. The Commission for Gender Equality is established in Chapter 9 of the Constitution as a State Institution Supporting Constitutional Democracy, to promote, among others, gender equality. The Constitution provides for its independence, and other organs of state must assist and protect it to ensure its independence, impartiality, dignity, and effectiveness. It is to assist the CGE that the Committee makes the findings and recommendations that follow.
