This question certainly doesn't fall within the ambit of the question that I am responding to. If the hon member had paid attention to the legislation that goes through the House, he would have been aware of the legislative requirements in relation to educators who become full-time councillors. He would well know that they are not entitled to be teachers. So, if you are a full-time councillor, you cannot now collect a salary from the council, as well as from being a teacher. I thought that would be within the ambit and knowledge of the hon member.
Determination of learners requiring scholar transport and interim measures in place to transport learners
42. Ms M G Boroto (ANC) asked the Minister of Basic Education: (1) Whether her department has undertaken an assessment of all schools that have learners requiring scholar transport, especially those in the rural areas and on farms; if not, why not; if so, how many (a) schools in each province have been identified as needing scholar transport and (b) of these schools have not yet been allocated such transport;
(2) whether any interim measures are in place to transport learners; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
